An amazing basket match

Sunday 17th February, Juliette and me, we were going to see a basketball match. The match took place in a big sport complex. Indeed, in this building, there are an important swimming pool, a stadium, and a basketball court. It is only at 20 minutes of the university by walk.
This match opposed Horsens to Aalborg. Both of them were team of the Danish first division. The Aalborg’s team is the first of this championship, and at the end of the match, Horsens’ team won!
We had seen that Danish people are really interesting about this sport, with a lot of supporters. There were children, elderly, parents, young people, etc.
It nice aspect is that students didn’t have to pay the entry. Moreover, during the Quarter there were some animations. A women asked people to try to score. Anthony tried but he did not succeed.
It was an enjoyable afternoon!

RUS Week

What is the RUS week ?

RUS week is organized by the Tutor Society. Their goal is that new students get to know eachother through games and parties.

Students are separated in teams. During the day, there are lots of games in the university and city center. That helps us to find some markers, in order not to get lost in the university and the town.

Program :

  • On Monday it was quit formal, just gathering information about people to contact in case of troubles, the way to connect the different websites of the university etc…
  • On Tuesday we made a treasure hunt in city center but it was so cold that tutors had to stop games earlier than expected. Indeed, it’s was snowing and after a walk of 4 hours we were completely tired.
  • The three last days were reserved for teambuilding, games between all groups and parties to celebrate victory of the best one. Thanks to that part of the RUS week, we met a lot of foreign student what is great for our network. Obviously it was really efficient in the way of improving our English.

Our first impression

We just want to post a topic about our first impression when we arrived in Denmark.

First of all we came to Horsens separately so we will have different thinks to say about it. Clemence came by car and Juliette and I went by plane from Frankfurt.

Our first impression when we flew over Denmark was the fact that this country is really flat, just looking like golf. Then when we took the bus from the airport to Horsens, landscapes reminded us France. However most of the houses are built with brick which is typical from that land. As in Alsace, there are fields everywhere and what is incredible is the fact that they already exploit soil until the sea.

Now we would like to tell you about our arrival in the University. Nobody from the staff was waiting for us so Béatrice took us to the right place to get our keys. Then a member from Tutor Society, which is one the student organization taking care of new students, showed us our accommodations.  At the beginning, only a few of us got flatmates, the rest just arrived during the week.
